Inside FIN VFX

September 2, 2026

After 25 years, FIN has learned a thing or two about solving complex creative challenges.

Over that time, FIN has grown into a team of more than 300 people working across five studios in Sydney, Melbourne, Ballina, the Gold Coast and Adelaide. The scale of the work and the technology behind it have evolved, but one thing has remained constant: a focus on craft, collaboration and client relationships built on trust.

Some of the work FIN is most proud of is the work that initially looks impossible. It’s often where collaboration, experience and a willingness to try something different matter most.

Supervisors, artists and production work closely together throughout a project, with supervisors sitting alongside their teams and problems solved collaboratively as they arise. That close connection allows FIN to adapt quickly when a project changes in scope, scale or direction, bringing the right people together to find a way forward.

The same mindset extends to technology. FIN is continually exploring new tools and ways of working, from emerging technologies to opportunities to connect expertise and technology already within the studio. The team tests things, sees what works and, if it makes the work better, finds a way to bring it into the pipeline.

That approach has also helped FIN build long-term relationships with clients, with teams often returning to projects with knowledge, workflows and pipelines developed through previous collaborations.

After 25 years, the work may continue to evolve, but the way FIN approaches a challenge remains much the same: bring the right people together, work through the problem and find a way forward.

FIN’s supervisors and producers share what goes into solving the work that looks impossible, and the collaborative approach that brings it all together.
